The Premier College of Health Technology is a privately owned institution, duly registered under the Companies and Allied matter Act 1990 by Corporate Affairs Commission and approved by the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria and various regulatory boards. The college is located at its permanent site in Adekanra, serene suburb of Ibadan, off Ibadan-Ife Road.

The college has boarding facilities for both male and female students. Our facilities for academic activities are top notch including conducive lecture rooms, well equipped library, e-library, laboratories, clinical demonstration room and a college health centre with facilities for both outpatient and in-patient care. All our students have the unique opportunity of health insurance cover.

We lay emphasis on the use of technology to enhance teaching and training with a view to preparing the students for a world that has become a global village, exposing students to e-learning and m-health opportunities with a view to preparing students to leverage technology for further learning and services provision. Premier College has a well-equipped community health demonstration laboratory, computer laboratory with multimedia facilities, environmental health museum, recreational facilities and large expanse of land for future expansion.

The College management is headed by the provost and proprietor, Dr Kayode Afolabi, who reports directly to the Governing Council.

Dr. Kayode Afolabi is a former Commissioner of Health, Oyo State and a retired Director from the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria, He is passionate about Health Systems Strengthening and Human Capital Development for healthcare delivery systems. He was formerly a chief consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Adeoyo Maternity Hospital, an honorary consultant to the University College Hospital, Ibadan and an associate lecturer to the University Ibadan, Nigeria.

He has invested over 33 years of practice into various aspects of Reproductive Maternal Child and Newborn Health as a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Through all these, he demonstrated his passion for enhancing access, coverage, and improved quality of healthcare to the community. He is an advocate of women’s improved population health outcomes through service delivery, capacity building for health workforce, health supplies, introduction of new medical products and technologies, health financing, and strong health governance. Dr Afolabi has a high network base with government, private sector and other stakeholders including the Donor community, Implementing Partners, and the Civil Society Organizations.

The Premier College of Health Technology, Ibadan is determined to provide and sustain an excellent atmosphere for those important foundational years of frontline healthcare providers’ training. So, we prioritize strong focus on collaboration with health regulatory agencies, and interaction among the tutors/lecturers and the students. Innovative approach to learning including Competency-Based Training and appropriate use of ICT in teaching and research are unique features of Premier College of Health Technology.
